A Month in the Life: My Recap of Fabulous February Gigs!

Holi photo shoot by Orlando belly dancer Carrara Nour, Ashley Jane Photography, Flower Girl Designs, and The Henna StudioHello, fans! Have you missed me?

In my efforts to make Central Florida an even more magical place, one belly dance show at a time, I’ve pretty naughty about blogging. It’s high time that I fix that!

Quiet times have become increasingly rare in my world, and while I’m experiencing a short but much-needed lull, I thought I’d recap what was truly an amazing month for my belly dance business. Thanks to lots of referrals in Orlando’s wedding and entertainment industry, and some repeat customers, February was my best and busiest month to date! As any of my friends can tell you, I’m not in this business to build an empire or become a household name. I’m in this business …

Real Wedding: Ediz and Laura at JW Marriott Grande Lakes, Orlando

When I think of Spring weddings, so many wonderful things come to mind – soft colors, fragrant flowers everywhere, and tons of romantic details. One of my April couples, Ediz and Laura had the perfect Springtime wedding at the JW Marriott in Orlando. The second you set foot in the ballroom, you couldn’t help but to get swept up in the soft, romantic elegance. My kind of wedding!

This wedding also had Turkish delight on the escort table; a very fitting treat for a sweet multicultural celebration!

As with so many of the weddings I perform, I was hired by the father of the groom, as both a nod to their Turkish heritage and a fun, interactive icebreaker. The couple …

New Video! Full-Length Show Coverage from Ashley and Ryan’s St. Cloud Wedding

What do you get when you combine a too-cute-to-be-true couple, an awesome crowd, and a fabulous fusion belly dance show with dramatic Isis wings, shimmering candles and sassy raqs assaya (aka the “party stick”)? You get a picture-perfect wedding. Literally picture perfect, when you’re working with your good friends at SugarPop Films and their 3-camera crew!

Brian Bazala was nice enough to send me this BEAUTIFUL footage that he and his team captured on Ashley and Ryan’s special day at the Riverside Pavilion in St. Cloud. It is not only a short teaser clip, but virtually my entire show, edited only to show a few different angles and some fun, silly and adorable reactions from the crowd.

Before we cut …

Real Wedding: Grace and Ronald at Timacuan Golf Club in Lake Mary

A gorgeous, newly renovated Orlando wedding venue. A Fall palette of chocolate brown, champagne, and pops of orange, with lots of shimmer in the decor. A photobooth, a rockin’ DJ, and a first dance with a Michael Jackson “Thriller” finale. What could possibly complete an already perfect and romantic Florida fall wedding?

A belly dance show, of course!

Grace and Ronald got married at the beautiful Timacuan Country Club in Lake Mary this past October, and I was thrilled when they came to me to provide that little extra “wow factor” for their elegant reception! Grace and I instantly hit it off, because she and I were very like-minded. Like myself, Grace loves music, dance and exploring other cultures, and …

Liza and Billy’s Armenian and Puerto Rican Wedding at the Estate of John’s Lake

My philosophy when it comes to weddings is simple: I like to work with couples that I’d personally hang out with as friends. Liza and Billy were no exception. When I met them, I knew we’d hit it off great. They were fun, down-to-earth, and wickedly funny. They were all about laughing and enjoying life together. Most importantly, I could instantly tell that they wanted a wedding that was not only beautiful but enjoyable for all their guests. You know those cookie-cutter weddings where nobody dances and everyone goes home early? Liza and Billy wanted NONE of that.

And not only did they want their wedding to be fun. They also wanted it to be culturally rich and meaningful. With …
