THIS post has been a long time in the making, and THIS post has been a long time in the making, and it's a long one...so cheers to you if you make it to the end 😎 Things have been feeling pretty "heavy" for a lot of us in the belly dance community these days...especially those of us who have been dancing long enough to have witnessed a vibe shift in the industry and the world. I'm posting this to see if this resonates with anyone else in the dance community...and how we can shift the vibes back in the right direction. We can't alter the course of current events, but we CAN focus on the things within our control like how we show up for our own local communities and what we do with our unique skills ❀️ More on these topics to come. Thank you @chantaldancelife for giving me the original inspiration behind this post. Dance may be glamorous entertainment, but we could all stand to pull back the curtain every once in awhile and reveal the REALITY of the business ❀️ Dancers and artists, what's been weighing on your mind?
Every once in awhile, I actually get to spend my S Every once in awhile, I actually get to spend my Saturday LEARNING dance instead of being busy performing πŸ™πŸΌ I had a wonderful time today learning retro Egyptian techniques with the coolest Canadian dancer @melissa.gamal ❀️ We did a deep dive on the iconic stylings of Fifi Abdo, Soheir Zaki and Najwa Fouad and then did some sassy 80's sha'abi πŸ’ƒπŸ» I've always been partial to Golden Age and vintage dance styles and this class gave me so many techniques to help me master those old-school steps and vibes I love so much 😍 Thank you @zizidances for hosting. Can't wait to do it again!
We used to post the most random and often unhinged We used to post the most random and often unhinged stuff on our business accounts because it showed clients that we were real, relatable and fun. (After all, personality IS everything when hiring live entertainment, and I'm much more of a glitter gremlin than a cool girl influencer personality type πŸ’…πŸΌ). Now we're all afraid to post because we don't have Spielberg in our corner at every event. Even if we did hire an Oscar-winning production crew, the algorithm still wouldn't show our content to anyone if it didn't pass the ever-changing and often mind-numbing criteria for a viral post. (Spoiler alert: it probably involves rage bait, lip syncing, AI, thirst traps, or all of the above). At the end of the day, when you buy from an artist or a small business owner, you're doing business with a HUMAN and our humanity will never change, no matter how much technology evolves and asks us to evolve with it. At what point do we reject this modern-day humiliation ritual and bring back the glory days of 2017-style shπŸ’©t-posting? I truly miss the days when it was cool to be ourselves and we weren't expected to conform to the same boring, cookie-cutter standards forced on us by influencers and AI. We may have been cringe by today's standards, but we were also free πŸ¦‹βœ¨
May is off to a great start! 😍 My first event of t May is off to a great start! 😍 My first event of the month was a gorgeous graduation party for the sweetest Lebanese family in Kissimmee 🫢🏼 You can always count on nonstop energy and immaculate dance floor vibes when working with a Lebanese crowd, and this group did not disappoint! My audience brought their A-game from beginning to end with all their best moves and enough zaghroutas to give Sabrina Carpenter an aneurysm...iykyk 🀣 I also got to debut a brand-new gold costume from @damuse_bellydancecostume ✨ Thank you Dareen for making me part of your sister's special day and I hope to see your family again soon!

No trending audio, no viral hooks and (most import No trending audio, no viral hooks and (most importantly) no AI slop...just a picture of a real human artist who pours her heart into her work and still does a little happy dance every time she gets hired to perform at a client's wedding or special occasion 🫢🏻🀍 Are you looking for some one-of-a-kind entertainment? I'd love to customize something special just for you! Click the link in my bio or shoot me a DM to get started πŸ’ƒπŸ»
Truly the worst 😫 But when I perform at a wedding Truly the worst 😫 But when I perform at a wedding or event, my focus is on my clients first and foremost! From beginning to end, I'm busy setting up, coordinating on-site logistics and making sure my costumes, props and energy are all on point. Content creation is an afterthought, even though the algorithms want all of us to treat it as a priority πŸ™ƒ #bellydanceproblems #bellydancelife #bellydancehumor #weddingentertainment #weddingindustry
